Mandaue Jaycees Team A hands Rich Media first loss in JBA

CEBU, Philippines - The Ed Latonio-led Mandaue Jaycees Team A dealt Rich Media of Richard Mercado its first defeat, 79-65, in the 2009 Jaycees Basketball Association (JBA) season at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
The Mandaue Jaycees went off to a hot start, 25-12, behind the hot hands of ex-USC Warrior Nestor Patindol and bull-strong center Lord Ong. Patindol finished the game with 23 points.
Rich Media threatened in the fourth period, but Mandaue Jaycees thwarted what would have been an inevitable disgrace.
The Mandaue Jaycees, thus, joined its victim on top of the leaderboard with identical 3-1 win-loss records.
Beboy Potencioso paced Rich Media with 15 points.

Uptown Jaycees now 3-0 in JCI basketball tourney

CEBU, Philippines - The Uptown Jaycees Foundation led by playing coach Dr. Boy Te rebuffed the Arcason and Son Construction and Development Corp. of Reeve Jumawan for its third straight victory in as many games in the 14th Junior Chamber International (JCI) Metro Cebu Uptown Jaycees basketball tournament at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
The Uptown Jaycees trailed by six points going into the final period, 60-66, but closed the game with a 31-18 bang to turn the tables in Arcason at the final buzzer.

JCI-Metro Cebu Uptown hoopla kicks off this Sunday

CEBU, Philippines – A total of seven teams will vie for top honors in the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Metro Cebu Uptown 1st Conference Basketball Tournament dubbed as "San Miguel Cup" at 5 pm this Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
These are the Mandaue Team A led by Joel Cal, Mandaue Team B led by Ed Latonio, Sherilyn Plastic/Rich Media represented by Richard Mercado, Mack Mayer Printers led by team owner Christopher Chua, Arcason of team owner Syc Jude Caya, Uptown Foundation led by playing coach Dr. Boy Te and Zone 360 led by Janjan Boniel.
